OTN Canada Assistant Administrator: Shauna Baillie

Dr. Shauna Baillie is the OTN Canada Assistant Administrator to Dr. Sara Iverson and Dr. Glenn Crossin. She received her Ph.D. from Massey University, New Zealand in November 2011. Shauna lectures in population genetics, biostatistics and animal biology at Dalhousie University and Saint Mary’s University, Canada. Her research focuses on conservation genetics of populations and drivers of spatial and temporal heterogeneity in pathogen transmission. In the past, Shauna studied food web theory in seabirds and marine invertebrates. Prior to her Ph.D., Shauna worked in wildlife consulting mainly assessing the impact of offshore oil, terrestrial coalbed methane and silviculture industries on wild animal populations.
